Marin Poetry Center's Traveling Show

Hear the words of our local poets at a reading hosted by Terry Scheidt at the Corte Madera Library. The Marin Poetry Center's Traveling Show will be at the Corte Madera Library on Tuesday, June 6th at 7:30 p.m. Featured poets include: Rose Black, Janet Jennings, Maggie Morley, Mary Kay Sweeney and Louise Yahnian. Homegrown Authors series: Walter Murch

Bolinas resident and Oscar-winner Walter Murch, author of In the Blink of an Eye: a Perspective on Film Editing, and one of the most admired and respected filmmakers of our time will discuss his work (which includes Cold Mountain, The English Patient, and Apocalypse Now) at the Stinson Beach Library on Monday, May 22nd at 7:30pm.

Ready to Run? It's Dipsea Race Time!

Come to the Corte Madera Library on Wednesday, June 7th at 7:00 p.m. to get a unique perspective on the Dipsea, the oldest cross country race in America, from George Frazier, who will run his 28th consecutive Dipsea Race this year.

The former Pacific Sun and Marin IJ reporter has written extensively about the race in a variety of publications. He has finished in the top 100 23 times and has won eight black shirts (for finishing in the top 35). He will discuss the history, lore and legends of this famous footrace. He will also answer questions about shortcuts, race tactics and secret workouts.

Enduring Voices

Oral Historian Marilyn Geary will explain how to preserve family stories during her special presentation entitled "Enduring Voices: Using Oral Histories to Preserve the Past" at the annual meeting of the Friends of the Civic Center Library on Wednesday, May 17th. Read a Thriller

Check our Recommended Reading section for a new pathfinder, Career Resources at the Civic Center Library. Here you can find a list of books, reference sources, and websites to help you choose a career, find a job, compile a resume, and interview successfully.
