History of the Point Reyes Peninsula

Authors Carola DeRooy and Dewey Livingston will give an illustrated talk on the history of the Point Reyes Peninsula to celebrate the publication of their new book on this topic at the Civic Center Library on Wednesday, September 3 from noon to 1pm. This free history program is held in conjunction with the Anne T. Kent California Room. For additional information about this event, contact the Civic Center Library at 499-6058.

Summer Fun at the Library!

We’re wrapping up our Teen Summer Program with a special LAN party at the Fairfax Library on Friday, August 22 from 4-6 pm and the South Novato Library on Wednesday, August 27 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Come and play "Need for Speed", "Rock Band" and "Dance Dance Revolution" while enjoying other fun activities along with pizza and snacks too! Space is limited so please contact the Fairfax Library at 457-5629 or the South Novato Library at 506-3168 to reserve a space for this fun event!

Poetry Reading

Marin Poetry Center Summer Traveling Show will be at the Corte Madera Library on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 7:30-8:30 p.m. Come hear local poets Barbara Brooks, Gabrielle Rilleau, Sharon Pretti, Deborah Ruth and Garth Stanton read their works. Sandi Sylver and the Girls are in town!

Join Sandi Sylver for a fun show of songs and tales with her puppets "The Girls" on Monday, August 11^th at the San Geronimo Library from 11-11:30 am and the Inverness Library from 3-3:30 pm! Whether telling true or tall tales, world or folk tales, Sandi loves to interact with the audience and see the excitement on children's faces as they become involved in each story. Sandi will be appearing later in the week at the Bolinas Library on Thursday, August 14th from 3-3:30 pm and at the Fairfax Library at 7 pm where she will present an All Dr. Seuss show! Sandi and the Girls will be at the Stinson Library on Saturday, August 16^th from 11-11:30 pm.
