AARP Tax Aides at the Library

Beginning February 2nd, AARP Tax Aides will be available to provide free assistance to low and middle income taxpayers (with special attention to seniors) at the Fairfax Library every Monday and Thursday from 10-2 pm through April 13th. The AARP Tax Aides will offer tax counseling and return preparation in the library meeting room on a first come, first served basis. Please remember to bring relevant tax documents such as social security cards, W-2 and 1099 forms, 2007 tax return, interest/dividend statements, etc. For more information on the AARP Tax Aide Program, visit their website at http://www.aarp.org/taxaide .

African Village Celebration a One Book One Marin Event at the Civic Center Library


AFRICAN VILLAGE CELEBRATION

In honor of the 2009 One Book One Marin choice of What is the What by Dave Eggers, come to a free performance of African drumming which will include drumming in the style of the Sudan.

African drummer, educator and recording artist Onye Onyemaechi of Village Rhythms takes participants on a tour of African drumming culture including group dances and songs. He uses the powerful rhythms of drumming to unite people in a celebration of life.
